Healthy sleep habits can often make a big difference in your energy levels throughout the day. Here are some tips to help you achieve a good night’s rest and wake up feeling ready to conquer the day.
According to experts, we should get at least 7-8 hours of sleep every night. People who don’t get enough sleep at night, might feel overly tired or unable to focus. You may experience loss of appetite or may overeat to compensate for low energy or experience other mental health conditions.
Build a healthy routine
Make sure to go to bed at the same time every night, and wake up at the same time every morning. Start by creating a healthy routine each night. It can be challenging when you’ve got to handle responsibilities not only at work, but at home, too. However, once you’ve create this healthy habit, you’ll notice a change in your mood, focus, and energy. Your mental health should come first, sleep is a priority.
Get up & Move
This has helped me tremendously. Not only does exercise relieve the stress and tension from busyness of life, but you will sleep better. Actually, you’ll experience more peaceful rest. Exercising helps to empty my mind from all the garbage, plus I feel the stress melt away. You start to feel more relaxed before bedtime. Sleep is a luxury, not a chore.
Turn off, switch off
Try turning off all electronics before going to bed. Most experts say, the mind can be overstimulated when you use electronics right before bedtime. Try turning off all electronic devices an hour before going to bed. Maybe read a book or write in your journal to transition into nighttime.
You have the power to balance your life, make nighttime one of your goals to achieve this week. You won’t know if this works until you try it!
Sweet Dreams!

Hey there! Fantastic post (says the writer who couldn’t fall asleep until 3am for no reason last night). My Pastor actually just spoke on the importance of a good night’s sleep and taking care of our bodies. The relaxation technique is so crucial especially for people who suffer from insomnia and anxiety. Sometimes we can become so stressed out about not falling asleep that it becomes harder to fall asleep and the best thing we can do is accept that sleep won’t come but that relaxation can.

Exactly. I never knew about the relaxation part until this year. They have great apps (apps for everything 😒) for ways to relax your body. One of them actually helped me a lot. Maybe I’ll do a post on them later.
