The thoughts of you, still makes my eyes sting.
“Get out!” among other things,
I can still hear it sing.
She left me covered in soot, outline by the scorch marks on the floor.
I couldn’t fathom why you just watched me burn.
When I reached for your protection, you settled into fear.
But He ascended and draped me in pure light.
Only He can mend the wounds.
Challenged myself to complete a writing prompt found on a blog I follow.
Let me know what you think, below!

This was beautiful, Tiffany! I’m not sure if this was the message you wanted to portray in your poem, but when I read it the thought came to mind that everyone around us can bail on us at the time we really need them the most, but God is always there and comes right on time to heal us and help us get back up. So, so uplifting!
