Advent-ure: Rediscover Christmas Day 5

Scripture:

Reflection:

Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Jesus embodies exactly what we need. This holiday season can be tough for a lot of people, especially as we approach the end of the year. Some of us have struggled with so much this year, we have lost hope. Will it ever get better? I’m face with sadness and loneliness this holiday season. However, I was reminded today, “Keep your head up, there’s still a lot of hours left in the day for it to get better.” It can Get Better. God, the wonderful Counselor, listens and redirects every detail. God is mightier than any problem or waves of emotion we face. He is Greater. He is forever our Father, always present and the protector. Jesus was sent not only as a sacrifice, but restore peace between us and God. God fosters a sense of peace for our mind and heart despite the setbacks and circumstances surrounding us. Meditate on this truth, fill the heart: God is in full control.

(John 14:27):

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Activity:

Sit back and listen to worship music. This one beautiful. Surrender the heart to the lyrics and feel the Prince of Peace. Written by Hillsong United

Prayer:

Jesus, You promised peace, not as the world offers, but as only you can give. It’s absolute with no false pretenses. A peace that passes all understanding. No matter what is happening around and inside of me, I only need to breathe your name. The promise of rest flows through my body, while sweet fellowship fills my heart. The effects will ripple throughout my mind, as I surrender the weight of negative thoughts. Flood my mind with Your truth, release the pressure. Help me rest securely in the knowledge that You, Jesus are working all things for my good. The final pieces are falling into place, this year isn’t over yet. Mistakes happened today, forgive me. What I wanted to see may not have occurred. It’s not on my time, but on God’s time. The right moment will come. But I’m not going to dwell on it and live with regret, hung up in bitterness and sink into doubt. Waiting isn’t easy for me, anxious and restlessness is happening. Help love me back to peace. Better days are ahead. Blessings are coming!
