I’m currently studying the Gospel According to John. For any new believer or those who desire to stud the bible in depth, this would be a great place to start. The gospels prepare our hearts to discover the truth about Jesus and Gods mission to save humanity. Within the first line of the verse, we discover the connection of Jesus and humanity.

“In the Beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.”

All of life was made through Jesus. From the very beginning Jesus was with God. Jesus was God.

Many of us missed out on this exact truth. I reflect on the many years, I spent without Jesus (although he is always present, we just don’t see Him. We’re spiritually blocked), covered up in loneliness and pain. I didn’t like who I was, I only fit into what the world thought I should be. Allowing the world to dictate my identity, feeling incomplete and hollow.

When I made the decision to accept Christ, I came to Him with all of my wounds. He still accepted me, even began to mend my wounds. I had no idea how gentle Jesus could be, always hiding behind shame. This revelation release the pressure of the world. The only thing that matter was to move and stay closer to Jesus. I know many don’t understand, but I never knew love until I embrace Jesus. The lost had been found, I shed the empty shell of loneliness. I am learning to unpack my true identity and loving the person I am (scars, flaws, & vulnerabilities).

I’m glad to be comfortable at home.

Your Word by Hillsong United

The lyrics are very powerful. Collectively, the specific verses is a reminder of the power behind Gods word. Gods word should be etched in our hearts, not for leisure. Although, the word was made flesh. Abide in Jesus and you’ll begin to see the truth.

When the bridge comes, I raise my hands to heaven. His words come alive inside of me. I can’t help, but to give Him glory.

The Word is fire in my bones. Jesus, the foundation of my life.
