I’ve learned how to enjoy a latte, homestyle. I found how to make a chai tea latte with just a few simple steps. Really you can get creative with it, as the options are endless!
Not to long ago, I discovered how to make a chai tea latte. I tend to stick with a caffeine-free hot beverage. As I’m sure you all have heard me mention, alot! LOL! I am a tea drinker at heart. You can play around with any of your favourite herbal teas to create any kind of Latte. I decided to give this a try, at home.
Some of my staple, favorite herbal teas:
- Peppermint: soothing for digestion and bloating; love the slight bit of sweetness mixed with a siesty kick.
- Green Tea: great for energy and rich with antioxidants.
- Chamomile Tea: calming effects, referred to as the “sleep” aid
The world is your oyster. Sometimes, we can add flare to a cup of coffee or tea. Flavors (or spices) are everything, you never know what you’ll discover.
Chai Tea blend traditional ingredients:
- Cinnamon: has been around for years, one of its powerful properties are known to target metabolism
- Star Anise: stunningly beautiful, sweet spice helps improve digestion, alleviate cramps, and reduce nausea
- Cardamom: has a cooling effect to relieve inflammation
HOW TO MAKE CHAI LATTE
All you’ll need is a teabag, non-dairy milk of choice: Almond Breeze or Silk are good, any sweetener you desire, and I recommend using an electric milk frother. I love it! You could use a whisk instead, but the frother really makes the foam and finishes off the look of the latte.
- Boil a cup of water in a pot, pour it over the teabag in the mug, let it steep.
- While the tea is steeping, heat a cup of milk in the same pot and bring to a soft boil.
- Once boiling, begin frothing with your frother for about 10-20 seconds. I use the low setting. I tend to tilt it (45 degrees) to get a more frothy effect. Keep the base mostly, but not entirely submerged in the milk to allow air in.
- Once it’s sufficiently frothed, pour the milk into the same mug and gently add the froth on top. It really makes the latte nice.
- Stir in your favorite sweetener, if desired, such as honey, maple syrup, or brown sugar.
- Enjoy!
