One night, I was restless and wide awake, I grab my headphones and listen to a message from Tony Evans. A snippet of what Tony said, “We always say, the devil is in the details, no God is in the details. When we face opposition or struggle, we quickly push God out of our situations.” But I thought he said, “We quickly kill God out of our situations.” Far too often, when we experience a setback, we blame it on the devil. Honestly, we give the devil way too much credit. Every situation we encounter is not always the work of the enemy. God is in the details. God plans our days. God will allow circumstances to occur for a reason.
How we respond to challenges will make a difference. God has a solution. When has God ever turned His back on us? Never will God forsake us. God is in the details of our life. It’s easy to miss Him. Whether we’re distracted by the problem or focus on how we want God to solve the problem rather than trusting God to do it His way. God doesn’t need us to tell Him how to solve the problem. We only need to trust and believe in the outcome He has planned.

It is difficult to find peace while we wait. I say what we need is a distraction. Spending time with God is a great distraction. Dumping the problem and emotions tied to it releases us from carrying the burdens. It does not mean we pretend everything is ok. Nor can we go around the problem. God will call us to walk through the problem. God is our guide.
In the middle is where we grow. Grow in our understanding of God and purify our hearts. This life will not be easy, but the burden is light with the help of the Holy Spirit.
When I thought, “My foot slips,” your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up. When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul. Psalm 94:18-19
When we feel our feet slip from underneath us, God is there to hold us up. When the cares of our hearts are many, God consoles us. God covers us in times of trouble.
