Gift of life

In the past two weeks, my mom’s health took a critical turn. It was an intense experience. Birthday plans were postponed to attend to my moms health. It consist of long sleepless nights of worrying and prayer. By the grace of God, she made a tremendous turnaround. I have embraced every moment of her recovery as a blessing from God. She has decided to embrace a healthier lifestyle. I pray she will cooperate with the work God wants to do in her heart.

What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” James 4:14-15

The verse says life is precious and delicate. Our life is an example of a mist. We can be here today and gone tomorrow. God, the maker of life. Everything was created through Him and for a purpose. We should not be concerned about the worries of yesterday or the affairs of tomorrow. We should focus on the present, the joy of living for today. In the morning, when we rise, as breath feeds into our lungs, let us sing praises for we have witnessed, our eyes see a new brand day.

Even though it was difficult situation, God has used this experience to change our hearts. Giving me the courage to pray for my mom and my siblings.

We cannot rewrite the past. Nor can we predict the future. We can unwrap the gift of today. The gift of being present, of all that God has prepared.

“Yesterday is History, Tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a Gift. That is why it is called the Present.”
