“He was despised and rejected by men, A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised and we esteemed him not.”
– Isaiah 53:3
Day 20 Reading:
(Take turns reading through this part of the Christmas story)
Luke 20
Supporting Scriptures:
Isaiah 53; Matthew 26:38; Luke 22:44; John 18 & 19; Psalm 69:29; John 10:17-18
Prayer:
Oh Jesus, what can I say in the face of the one, whom for a long time I denied? The punishment that I deserved at Calvary fell upon You, so that You could bring salvation. And You willingly leaned into the suffering that was meant for me and across many generations. Every sorrow and suffering I face, is nothing compare to the suffering You first faced for the ransom of our sins. You bore the wrath of God for me and others. Thank You for that gift and for reconciling us to God.
Amen
